Chuck VanRobays: Coach VanRobays serves as the lead hitting instructor for the Origin Athletics and works with the entire instruction staff to create the hitting curriculum for the facility.  Chuck is Rapsodo Hitting certified and uses the technology from the devise to develop hitters and contribute to each player’s recruiting process.   Coach VanRobays uses several implementations to aid the hitters including the core velocity belt and the rebel’s rack.  Chuck recently added a rebel’s rack certification from baseball rebellion to utilize its progression as needed with hitters.  Coach currently runs the Max Velo Hitting programs in addition to individual and small group lessons.  Coach has been instrumental in helping players reach their goal of playing collegiate and professional baseball

Coach VanRobays is also the founder of the Intro to Travel Baseball Program (ITB) for beginner baseball players.  The program has grown exponentially since its inception in 2018.

Coach is a full time Strength and Conditioning coach focused on athletic development.  He has been certified as both a Sports Conditioning Specialist and a Personal Trainer by the International Fitness Professionals Association in 2002.  Coach VanRobays also has continuing education certifications in the following areas:

  • Nutrition for Athletes

Chuck VanRobays was the head of the Rochester Adams baseball program from 2004 to 2010.   During his tenure, the Highlanders won four district titles, made three regional final appearances and one quarterfinal appearance.  During those seven years, 14 student-athletes went on to play collegiate baseball at some level.  Chuck was named All-District coach of the year 3 times and All-Area once in his time at Adams and in his final year was named Regional Coach of the year by the MHSAA. Chuck founded the Oakland Bulldogs baseball program in 2006. Currently he acts as the Director of the Oakland Bulldogs Baseball organization and coaches a team every year. The Bulldogs program competes nationally on a yearly basis and includes a 2011 CABA World Series championship and a 2012 AABC World Series runner up. Since the Bulldogs first graduating class in 2011, Chuck and his staff have developed 122 athletes who continued their playing career at the collegiate level and 9 have reached the professional ranks.  One Current big leaguer.

This vast experience has assisted numerous athletes reach their athletic and fitness goals.

Coach VanRobays’ baseball collegiate career began at Henry Ford C.C. where he was named All-American Honorable Mention in 1997. He then earned a baseball scholarship to play at Oakland University where he still holds the record for games played in a single season (60).

In 2000, Coach VanRobays began his professional career with the Johnstown Johnnies during which time the team won the Frontier League Championship. He spent two additional seasons with the Johnnies and was named to the All-Star team in 2001. Following the 2001 season, he signed a free agent contract with the Baltimore Orioles and completed his pro baseball career with the Cook County Cheetahs of the Frontier League in 2003.
