Training Specialties: Hitting, Catching, Pitching, Fielding
Coach Nestor joined the staff at the Origin Athletics in December 2010 and is currently an assistant coach at Rochester College. Joining the RC coaching staff in the fall of 2013 working with primarily pitchers and catchers. In his first two seasons at RC, he coached the pitching staff to back to back appearances in the USCAA Small College World Series in 2014 and 2015, also coaching multiple USCAA All-Americans and Academic All-Americans. Before joining the staff at Rochester Coach Nestor spent two seasons at Birmingham Seaholm High School. While Nestor was a Seaholm he served as the Junior Varsity Head Coach, where his total record was 31-11.
Coach Nestor hails from Rochester Hills, Mich. where he attended and played baseball at Rochester Adams High School under Head Coach Chuck VanRobays. He was a contributing part of two district titles in 2005 and 2006 with a regional finals appearance in 2005. As a senior in 2006, he was a recipient of the Brown and Gold Award.
Scott continued his baseball career playing 4 years of club baseball at Central Michigan University. As a part of the National Club Baseball Association (NCBA), the Chippewa’s won two Great Lakes North Conference Championships and two Great Lakes Regional Championships. Making two NCBA World Series appearances in 2008 and 2010 the Chippewa’s would finish at a high ranking of 5th in the country. Coach Nestor was a three year starter on the team and in his senior year, he was also the head coach of the team. Between his sophomore and senior seasons he had earned Conference Player of the Week honors three times.
Nestor has also been on the coaching staff of the Oakland Bulldogs Baseball Program since 2010. He graduated from Central Michigan University in 2011 with a degree in Sports Management and Leadership Studies. Coach Nestor has also earned his certification as a Strength and Conditioning Coach from the International Fitness Professionals Association.
